Fiaris (“Fiaris,” “we,” “us”) is a research desk for as-reported company filings. This policy describes how we handle personal information when you use the Fiaris website and, when accounts are enabled, when you sign in with Google.
We are based in Chile. Our intended users are in the United States. We do not currently charge for the product or process payments on this site.

2. What this product does
Fiaris shows as-reported financial statement line items and the related 10-K notes and MD&A excerpts we have indexed. It is a research tool. It is not investment advice, a broker, or a payment processor.
Anonymous use of the public research pages does not require an account.
3. Information we collect
If you only browse (no sign-in)
- Standard server and hosting logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps, pages requested), generated by our host (currently Vercel).
- Preferences stored only in your browser (for example fiscal-year column order). Those stay on your device unless you later sign in and we copy them into a profile.
If you sign in with Google (when that feature is enabled)
We use Google OAuth (via Auth.js) as the identity provider. We request only basic identity scopes: openid, email, and profile. We do not read your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or contacts.
From Google we receive, and may store:
- Google account email address (Google has already verified it)
- Display name
- Profile image URL (if Google provides one)
- A stable Google subject identifier
We create a Fiaris user record with an internal id, timestamps, and optional product preferences (for example issuers you pin). We do not ask you for a password.
What we do not collect today
- Payment card numbers, bank accounts, or billing addresses (we do not take payments on this site yet)
- Government IDs
- Precise geolocation beyond what an IP may imply in logs
- Content of your Google account beyond the identity fields above
4. How we use the information
- To operate and secure the site
- To create and maintain your Fiaris account when you sign in
- To show you as signed in (name, email, photo) on account pages
- To remember product preferences you choose while signed in
- To diagnose errors and abuse
- To communicate about the account if you email us, or if we must send a security notice
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use Google user data for advertising. We do not train public models on your account data.
5. Cookies and session
When you sign in, we set an HTTP-only session cookie (Auth.js) so the browser can stay signed in. It is Secure on HTTPS and SameSite=Lax. Sessions are meant to last on the order of weeks, not indefinitely. You can end a session by signing out.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
6. Sharing
We share personal information only with processors that help us run Fiaris, under their terms:
- Google — sign-in (you authorize Google to send us identity data)
- Our website host (currently Vercel) — serving the site and logs
- Our database host for user records (when accounts are enabled; this is separate from the research filings warehouse)
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the service or other people.
We will not share Google user data with third parties except as described here or with your consent.
If we later add a payments provider (planned: Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record), we will update this policy before we collect or pass any billing data. That is not in the product today.
7. International transfers
We are in Chile. Our host and Google are often in the United States or other countries. If you are in the US, your information is processed in Chile and in the countries where those processors operate.
8. Retention
- Account data: until you delete the account, or we delete it after a prolonged inactive period or a legal duty to drop it
- Session cookies: until they expire or you sign out
- Server logs: a short operational window set by the host, then rotated
If you delete your account, we remove the Fiaris user record and session. Google still holds your Google account; you can revoke Fiaris under your Google account permissions.
9. Your choices
- Do not sign in — the public research desk remains usable without an account
- Sign out
- Request account deletion (account settings when enabled, or email support@fiaris.com)
- Revoke Fiaris in Google Account → Third-party access
Depending on where you live (including certain US states), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to appeal a denial. Email us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising those rights. Chile’s Law 19.628 also applies to our processing as a Chilean operator; write us at the contact above.
10. Children
Fiaris is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the relevant age). We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
11. Security
We use HTTPS, a limited OAuth scope, and session cookies that JavaScript on the page cannot read. No method of transmission or storage is perfect.
12. Changes
We will post the updated policy on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If we start charging, add a payment processor, or materially expand what we collect from Google, we will update this policy before that goes live.
